Most small companies think that they are too small to have backup software installed, and that they could easily recover from data loss or data corruption. But, data loss is actually one of the leading causes of small business going under, and if you want to make sure that doesn’t happen to you, then you should consider having some sort of backup software installed sooner rather than later.
The cost of this type of software is absolutely miniscule in comparison to what it would cost you if you lost your data. Imagine losing a day’s worth, a week’s worth, or even a year’s worth of data because you simply failed to backup your computers or server. What would the price of that be to your business?
It is not difficult to install backup software and it is certainly not time-consuming to run it. In fact, once you set it up, it will run all by itself and you can forget about it. If you think of it as an insurance policy for your data that is always in place, one that hopefully you won’t ever need, you will see how much worth it could have for you.
If you think that a perfect time will come along when you will have the opportunity sit down and install a backup, you are wrong. You can’t plan on doing it in the future – you need to do it now. The sooner you do it, the sooner you will be able to rest at night, knowing that all of your data is safe from corruption, safe from natural disasters, and even safe from unsavory employees attempting to sabotage your business. You never know how and when disaster will strike, so take care of your data and back it up before something terrible does happen.
